Kale Chef Service is a woman and chef owned Charcuterie Bar and Gourmet Catering Service in North Scottsdale. Specializing in artfully crafted charcuterie boards, catering, and gifts.

About Us

Kale Chef Service is a Charcuterie Bar and Gourmet Catering Delivery Service in North Scottsdale. Inspired by the season, we create artfully crafted chilled and warm grazing boards and catering spreads for intimate to large gatherings. 

Job Responsibilities

As a lead line cook you’ll work directly with our Sous Chef in managing the day-to-day production of the kitchen. Assisting the Sous Chef when working together, as well as being able to lead and manage the kitchen in his absence. 

Job Requirements

  • A minimum of 3+ years of consecutively working at the same company as a line cook, lead line cook, or jr sous chef
  • A positive ‘can do’ attitude
  • Maintain and hold the highest standards of cleanliness
  • Assist the Executive Chef with daily food production
  • Prepare food by company standards and by The Health Department
  • Order and ensure the product is in-house in the absence of the Executive Chef
  • Manage and lead the team in the Executive Chef absence
  • Foster and maintain a positive working environment
  • Report to the Executive Chef
  • Create and/or adjust production schedules as needed 
  • Assist in ensuring our products are presented and prepared to the highest standards of taste and presentation
  • Manage all activities in the kitchen, including food preparation and production, and management and training of kitchen staff
  • Ensure efficient, cost-effective operation and profitability of food production
  • Supervise and inspect all preparation and cooking equipment regularly to ensure that they are kept clean, sanitary, and in great operating order
  • Ensure that food products, presentation, and packaging/plating are of the highest quality and are prepared for delivery promptly
  • Assure adherence to all standards of food quality, preparation, recipes, and presentation in conjunction with the specifications
  • Monitor holding and storage operations, stocking and food rotation, and guarantee food service sanitation standards are met
  • Assure kitchen personnel is trained in the best cleanliness and sanitation practices
  • Pass a background check

Compensation

  • Compensation: $24-$26 per hour

Job Responsibilities

  • Wash, prepare, chop, cook and produce food in accordance with the company standards
  • Weigh, portion, and follow recipes and/or the company’s meal prep standards
  • Assemble, portion, label, and package food 
  • Assist with maintaining a clean and organized kitchen which includes cleaning and sanitizing work station, washing dishes, taking out the garbage, sweeping, mopping, and working with the team to keep the kitchen in clean working condition at all times

Job Qualifications

  • Legal to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours a day
  • Work in an environment with climate changes (warm/hot while working the line, cold walk-in fridge/freezer)
  • Have 3+ years of experience working in a scratch kitchen
  • A positive “can-do” attitude
  • Current food handlers certificate
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

JOB DESCRIPTION 

As a prep cook, you are responsible for slicing and portioning cheeses, meats, jams and dips, bread, and accompaniments (nuts, dried fruit, etc.). Complete packaging of our house-made items (ie. salad dressings, dips, etc.).

Event Chef 

About Us 

Kale Chef Service is a Scottsdale-based gourmet catering company offering full service and catering delivery or pickup. We are a farm-to-table caterer with a focus on seasonal and scratch cooking techniques. We believe the best meals start with real food, whole ingredients. 

Job Description

As an event chef, you will be responsible for assisting the kitchen team in the production and packaging of food for our catering services. Working directly with the Executive Chef. 

In addition to preparing food, the event chef is responsible for transporting and setting up catering services for events. Ensuring everything that is needed is loaded into the company catering van. The Event Chef will set up events according to company standards. 

Some events will require the Event Chef to stay throughout and clean up after, break down the catering setup, and load the company van back up. Return to the kitchen and unload any refrigerated items back into the kitchen. 

Schedule

The schedule will vary from week to week depending on the needs of the business. This position requires evening and weekend availability. Working with the kitchen team with event prep during the weekday, and attending events that may occur during the day, afternoon, evening, and weekends. We will provide 2 consecutive days off, per week, more than likely Sunday and Monday.

Tentative Schedule: Tuesday – Thursday: 10 AM – 6:30 PM, Friday + Saturday, 12:30 PM – 9 PM

Assist customers with building their grazing + charcuterie boards, preparing online orders, and using our POS to check customers out. As well as ensuring the front retail area is clean and well-stocked at all times.
