Kitchen Safety Rules

  • Supervision: All activities will be supervised by trained instructors to ensure a safe environment.
  • Handwashing: Mandatory handwashing before handling food and throughout the class.
  • Knife Safety: Age-appropriate instruction on safe knife handling techniques and supervised practice.
  • Oven Safety: Instructors will handle oven operations, and children will be taught about hot surfaces and caution around the oven area.
  • Allergies: Parents must disclose any food allergies during registration. We cannot accommodate food allergies as all recipes and ingredients are made for the entire class. In our kitchen we use the gluten/wheat, soy, dairy, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts and peanuts.
  • Emergency Procedures: Basic emergency procedures will be reviewed, including location of first-aid kit and emergency exits.

Attire Requirements

  • Closed-Toe Shoes: Mandatory for all participants to protect feet from spills and accidents. No sandals or flip-flops allowed.
  • Hair Tied Back: Long hair must be tied back to prevent it from getting into food or equipment.
  • Aprons: Aprons will be provided to protect clothing.
  • No Dangling Jewelry: Avoid wearing long necklaces, bracelets, or earrings that could get caught or contaminate food.
  • Comfortable Clothing: Wear comfortable, washable clothing that allows for movement.

  • Small Class Size: Limited to 12 children to ensure individual attention and safety.
  • Clean Workspaces: Workspaces will be cleaned and sanitized before and after each activity.

Safety and Attire Questions

A: Due to the nature of group cooking classes, we are unable to accommodate special food allergies. If you have questions regarding allergies, please contact us.

Due to planning and ordering cooking classes are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend class, a written notice is required at least 48-hours in advance in order for us to offer a credit towards another class, date or time. For cancellations made within 48-hours, a 50% store credit will be issued.
