Kale Chef Service is a woman and chef owned Charcuterie Bar and Gourmet Catering Service in North Scottsdale. Specializing in artfully crafted charcuterie boards, catering, and gifts. 

We work with local farms and purveyors to source the finest ingredients available for our seasonal offerings. As a growing team, we’re seeking individuals who share in our commitment in providing our customers with exceptional dining and hospitality experiences.

JOB DESCRIPTION 

As a front counter team member, you’re responsible for greeting customers with a warm and inviting smile. Assist customers with building their grazing + charcuterie boards, preparing online orders, and using our POS to check customers out. As well as ensuring the front retail area is clean and well-stocked at all times. 

  • Use electric slicer to slice, portion and prepare prep station for service
  • Ensure prep stations are fully stocked and ready for food service
  • Prepare food orders for walk in customers and online orders
  • Package, wrap and bag customer orders 
  • Assist customers with questions about our products and services 
  • Ensure the market is fully stocked and presented in a clean and inviting manner
  • Provide customers with samples 
  • Have the ability to properly describe our gourmet food offerings, as well as flavor profiles 
  • Use the POS system to check out customers

As a lead line cook, you are responsible for fabricating proteins, preparing and portioning food in accordance with our daily production schedule, and following recipes in accordance with company standards and health department. 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience working in scratch kitchen (restaurant, caterer) as a line cook
  • Food Handlers Card (Food Manager Certification Preferred)
  • Ability to stand for 8+ hours a day
  • Ability to lift 40+ lbs 
  • Ability to work in hot and/or cold work environments
  • Legal to work in the U.S.
  • Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with our production schedule
  • Work fast in an efficient manner 
  • Warm, inviting, and personable demeanor
  • Ability to follow directions, complete tasks, and work well with others

Event Chef 

About Us 

Kale Chef Service is a Scottsdale-based gourmet catering company offering full service and catering delivery or pickup. We are a farm-to-table caterer with a focus on seasonal and scratch cooking techniques. We believe the best meals start with real food, whole ingredients. 

Job Description

As an event chef, you will be responsible for assisting the kitchen team in the production and packaging of food for our catering services. Working directly with the Executive Chef. 

In addition to preparing food, the event chef is responsible for transporting and setting up catering services for events. Ensuring everything that is needed is loaded into the company catering van. The Event Chef will set up events according to company standards. 

Some events will require the Event Chef to stay throughout and clean up after, break down the catering setup, and load the company van back up. Return to the kitchen and unload any refrigerated items back into the kitchen. 

Schedule

The schedule will vary from week to week depending on the needs of the business. This position requires evening and weekend availability. Working with the kitchen team with event prep during the weekday, and attending events that may occur during the day, afternoon, evening, and weekends. We will provide 2 consecutive days off, per week, more than likely Sunday and Monday.

Tentative Schedule: Tuesday – Thursday: 10 AM – 6:30 PM, Friday + Saturday, 12:30 PM – 9 PM

As a prep cook, you are responsible for slicing and portioning cheeses, meats, jams and dips, bread, and accompaniments (nuts, dried fruit, etc.). Complete packaging of our house-made items (ie. salad dressings, dips, etc.).
