About Us

Kale Chef Service is a chef and woman-owned catering company in Scottsdale specializing in gourmet, farm-to-table cuisine. We offer full-service event and dinner party catering, pickup and drop-off catering, and gourmet food and beverage provisions.

We’re looking for a driven, positive, and passionate sous chef to join our team. The ideal candidate has a strong passion for culinary excellence and a keen eye for detail. You will assist the Executive Chef in providing exceptional food quality and presentation.

Location: Scottsdale, Arizona

Start Date: 9/18/23

Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday: 8 am – 4 pm most days and depending on events and business volume. Several evening events during the week and Saturdays while in season. Offering Sunday and Mondays off or Saturdays and Sundays depending on the business volume and season. Wednesdays are a ‘split’ day where you will work in the kitchen during the day and in the evening remotely (1-2) hours ordering produce and finalizing prep sheets.



  • Oversee and assist the kitchen staff in all aspects of food production for event catering and weekly meal prep services
  • Evaluate food products to ensure consistent quality standards
  • Establish and maintain a regular maintenance schedule for all kitchen areas and equipment
  • Provide training and professional development opportunities for all kitchen staff

  • Take care of all ordering and shopping of products
  • Recruit and train new employees
  • Excellent culinary math for food ordering needs and finding ways to reduce costs
  • Communicate with The Executive Chef on a daily basis in an effective manner

  • A positive demeanor and ‘can do’ attitude
  • 5+ years’ of experience in a Sous Chef Role in a fine dining and/or scratch kitchen
  • ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
  • Knowledge of healthy cooking techniques and diets for our weekly meal prep services
  • Passionate in creating beautiful, gourmet food for casual breakfast buffets to multi-course tasting dinners
  • Can work well and prioritize food production schedule as needed
  • Intermediate Knowledge of GSuite (Google Calendar, Maps, Docs, Drive, Sheets, etc)
  • Intermediate Knowledge of Microsoft Word (Word, Excel, etc.)

Offering farm-to-table, scratch made, and seasonal cuisine for full service event and dinner party catering, pickup and drop off catering, Artisan Cheese + Charcuterie Boards, and a soon to open Gourmet Food Store.

Job Description

As an event chef, you will be responsible for assisting the kitchen team in the production and packaging of food for our catering services. Working directly with the Sous Chef. 

In addition to preparing food, the event chef is responsible for transporting and setting up catering services for events. Ensuring everything that is needed is loaded into the company catering van. The Event Chef will set up events according to company standards. 

Some events will require the Event Chef to stay throughout and clean up after, break down the catering setup, and load the company van back up. Return to the kitchen and unload any refrigerated items back into the kitchen. 


The schedule will vary from week to week depending on the needs of the business. This position requires evening and weekend availability. Working with the kitchen team with event prep during the weekday, and attending events that may occur during the day, afternoon and evening, and weekends. We will provide 2 consecutive days off, per week, more than likely Sunday and Monday.

We’re seeking experienced line cooks to join our growing team. 

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 am – 4:30 pm (30 minute lunch break)

Job Responsibilities

  • Wash, prepare, chop, cook and produce food in accordance with the company standards
  • Weigh, portion, and follow recipes and/or the company’s meal prep standards
  • Assemble, portion, label, and package food 
  • Assist with maintaining a clean and organized kitchen which includes cleaning and sanitizing work station, washing dishes, taking out the garbage, sweeping, mopping, and working with the team to keep the kitchen in clean working condition at all times

Job Qualifications

  • Legal to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours a day
  • Work in an environment with climate changes (warm/hot while working the line, cold walk-in fridge/freezer)
  • Have 2+ years of experience working in a scratch kitchen

Job Description

We’re seeking an hourly Garde Manager Chef to join our team. You will be responsible for producing our house-made sauces, dips, dressings, cheese and charcuterie boards, salads, artisan house-made provisions, bars, and snacks.

Start Date

  • ASAP


  • Monday to Friday 8 am – 4:30 pm (until October)
  • Tuesday to Saturday 8 am – 4:30 pm (beginning in October)

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare menu items in accordance to standardized recipes
  • Use a meat slicer to cut gourmet meats and cheeses
  • Use a cheese cutter and slicer to prepare cheese
  • Wash and prepare produce
  • Prepare cold food and our packaged food items to order
  • Great customers with a warm welcome and prepare their order
  • Reports directly to the Executive Chef and in her absence, Sous Chef

Job Requirements
