The Kale Story

Born and raised in the Chicagoland area, Chef Kristen Madison developed a passion for cooking at a young age while preparing holiday desserts and traditional southern comfort foods with her mom. It wasn’t until later that she realized cooking was her passion. 

After moving to Arizona, she enrolled in culinary school and worked her way through college learning the ins and outs of a professional kitchen. Working in farm-to-table restaurants, luxury hotels, and country clubs. Tired of the toxic kitchen environments, she out on a mission to create beautiful food, using the best ingredients available, thus Kale Chef Service was born in 2013. 

Since the company’s inception, Chef Kristen has immersed herself in her craft and has grown Kale from an in-home chef service to a dedicated commercial kitchen in North Scottsdale where food is made fresh to order, from scratch by professional chefs and cooks. 

Today we’ve catered over 1200+ events including but not limited to professional athletes, celebrities and UHNW clients as well as Bottega Veneta, Google, Delta Dental, Snell & Wilmer, Lululemon, Abott, CVS Pharmacy, and many other top brands. 

As Chef Kristen grew as a chef, so did her vision and today, she shares her knowledge and passion with clients, creating memorable experiences from birthday celebrations to sharing her hospitality expertise in assisting clients in creating beautiful grazing experiences through our cocktail party and buffet catering services, to our interactive cooking classes and workshops.
